India posted 324/7 after being asked to bat first by Bangladeshi captain Shakib. Dinesh Karthik top-scored with 94 runs while Hardik Pandya played an entertaining innings of 80*.
In reply, Bangladesh were in all sorts of trouble losing first six wickets for 22 runs in 7.3 overs. The Tigers managed to score 84 in 23.5 overs. Bangladesh lost their second consecutive warm-up match.
Shakib was dejected with the poor performance by the batsmen. He hopes to do well in all departments of the game when the tournament gets underway on June 1.
“Everything went wrong. We just tried too many things today. The bowling did okay. With the batting department certainly not an ideal way to get into the tournament. Before this game the batters had a good time in England and Ireland. Some of our guys who have played here before do know what to do. We cannot control the weather. We hope to do well in all departments of the game,” he said after the match.
Bangladesh will take on hosts England at The Oval in the opening game. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza will be back as captain for the match.
