As Bangladesh thrashed Ireland after a brilliant team performance, Tigers opening stalwart Tamim Iqbal thinks it will help them in the Champions Trophy.

“It will be great for us to go to England by winning here. Here more or less everyone played two innings. Everyone has already understood how and what to do. It needs much time to adjust first. After getting set in the wicket it is needed to wait for a bad ball,” Tamim said.

Although Bangladesh have well thus far in the tournament, Tamim is still worried about the wicket condition of England as the wicket conditions of Ireland and England are quite different to each other.

“The wicket of England will be different than Ireland. It will be difficult for us to play against Australia, England and New Zealand in flat pitch. So there will be a good chance for us also in Champions Trophy,” Tamim told.

To ne noted Bangladesh will face England, New Zealand and Australia in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. First match of the tournament will be played between Bangladesh and England on June 1.
