The old "fizz" is backMustafizur Rahman who was criticized for not being able to perform well after coming back from injury, has started to answer to all his critics with his performance. Today in the match against Ireland he picked up four important wickets to register an easy win for Bangladesh.

The cricketer from Satkhira had been performing brilliantly since his first appearance in international cricket against Pakistan. But all of a sudden he injured himself and had to face the hurdle of undergoing a shoulder injury back in August, last year.

Since his shoulder surgery, Mustafizur could not register any brilliant performance with the ball.  He was very much expensive in bowling, in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka in their own backyard as compared to his early day’s performance.

In that series where Bangladesh shared the trophy with the host, Mustafiz picked up six wickets at an economy rate of more than six runs per over, which obviously does not suit with the sensational pacer.

The cutter master was dropped from Bangladesh side for his poor performance and even he was overlooked in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) after he gave away 34 runs from 2.4 overs and remained wicket-less in the first match.

But in this ongoing tri-nation series, Mustafiz is doing exactly what was required of him to shut the mouths of those who were saying Mustafizur’s days were over. Although the Fizz took two wickets against New Zealand, he was instrumental with the ball and conceded only 33 runs from his nine overs.

But today against Ireland, Mustafiz was not only economical but also he deceived four Irish batsmen with his brilliant bowling. He bowled 9 overs,  including two maidens, at an economy rate of 2.55 to take his 4 wickets, conceding only 23 runs.

Thus far, in the tri-nation series Mustfizur picked up 6 wickets, having bowled in 2 matches.
