Meanwhile, Mashrafe and co are two points behind than Sri Lanka cricket team in the ICC ODI rankings. Hence, they are getting chance to surpass Sri Lanka in ODI rankings during their forthcoming mission of tri-nation series.
To be noted, alongside Bangladesh, hosts Ireland and New Zealand will take-part in tri-nation series which is scheduled to start from May 12. Each of the teams will play four matches before the final match of the series.
It is to inform that if Bangladesh can win all of the four matches then Tigers will gain 6 rating points which will leapfrog them over Sri Lanka. Even if Bangladesh can able to win three matches, it will help them to surpass Sri Lanka with 94 rating points on the rankings table.
It is known to all that this is the ultimate criteria for the Test playing teams to remain in the top eighth ranking before the cut-off time of September 2017 to acquire the automatic qualification to the 2019 World Cup.
So, Bangladesh are getting a proper chance to improve their position in a mission to secure the automatic qualification in 2019 World Cup.
