Nineteen year old Rishabh Rajendra Pant starred the show at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi as the home team claimed an acclaimed win against Gujarat Lions.

In the tenth encounter of the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League, Delhi Daredevils eclipsed a monstrous total made by Gujarat Lions with 15 balls to spare in the innings.

The Daredevils batsmen have surpassed 208 runs of Gujarat Lions in 17.3 overs losing a handful of wickets, tallying 3 to capture the win.

All credit must go to the youngsters of Delhi Daredevils, 19 year old Rishabh Pant and 22 year old Sanju Samson who backfired to the Lions’ bowling line up with quite invincibility to run down such a big total.

Rishabh Pant, quite unfortunately missed the hundred, was caught by Karthik off Basil Thampi scoring 97 runs. The teenage prodigy startled the spectators with stunning shots hovering on the ground. 9 sixes he hit accompanying 6 fours in his innings.

Meanwhile Delhi Daredevils’ wonder finding Sanju Samson, once again stepped into the field with exuberance of form. Opening the innings, Samson scored 61 runs off just 31 balls.

The Delhi born Samson stroke 7 sixes in his innings with no fours on the card. The home team did not lost their after their departure Iyer and Anderson completed the task in a hurry.

During the upper portion of the match, skipper Suresh Raina and Dinesh Karthik joined hands for a 133 run third wicket partnership to pave the Gujarat Lions’ total into a substantial total of 208 runs in their innings after Delhi Daredevils sent them to bat first.

The away match for Gujarat Lions did not commence prettily on the point of both of their hard hitter openers Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith exhibited poor shows with the bat.

McCullum slipped in the second over off Kagiso Rabada who has been in an outstanding form with the ball in this season’s IPL while Caribbean pinch hitter Dwayne Smith was unfortunate enough to ran himself out in a direct throw by Nadeem in the immediate next delivery on which McCullum departed.

Two down at the score of 10 within less than two overs, Gujarat Lions was in deep trouble but captain Raina had has a different outlook towards the match.

He along with Dinesh Karthik submerged all the troubles for the visiting team, calmly cruised with the run rate and took the total to near about hundred and fifty in 13 overs.

Both of them completed their half centuries; of the two, Suresh Raina scored highest. He made 77 playing 43 deliveries striking 5 fours and 4 sixes.

On the other end of the crease, Dinesh Karthik scored head to head with Raina until he was stopped by Pat Cummins in the fifteenth over. Karthik’s 65 came from 34 deliveries hitting 5 fours and equal number of sixes.

Although the late middle order faltered a bit, Ravindra Jadeja picked up two quick sixes to take the total beyond 200.
