Bangladesh who are back in the ICC Champions Trophy after a gap of 11 years have been placed in group where they will have to face three of the top ranked ODI teams.
It’s a matter of conjecture that which two teams among world champions Australia, hosts England, balanced New Zealand and rising stars Bangladesh will proceed through this group to the knockout stage.
But as compared to other teams of the group, it will be more tougher for the side, led by Mashrafe Bin Mortazaz, being an Asian team as the teams from Asia always struggle in the English condition.
Bangladesh opening stalwart Tamim Iqbal also admits the fact, “We are in a very difficult group. We have been placed with teams who play very well in these conditions. So, it will always be difficult for an Asian team.”
However, in the meantime Tamim also said it wouldn’t be easy for their opponent teams to get victory over them as they are not anymore a team that starts a game with a defeatist mind-set.
But we are now not a team that is going to start a game with a defeatist mind-set. We are now not a team for anyone to beat easily. I think we have earned respect from other teams with consistent good performances,” concluded a confident Tamim, who has the most ODI runs and centuries for Bangladesh under his belt.
