In Afridi’s dream team, all – time great Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar is to open the bat with Australian wicket keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist.

The middle order is comprised of Ricky Ponting, Inzamam – ul – Haque and Brian Charles Lara. The likes of Kumar Sangakkara and Jacques Henry Kallis completes the batting line up of Shahid Afridi’s dream team.

The pace attack of Afridi’s team has been constructed with Afridi’s once team mate and captain the great Wasim Akram and pace shuttle of Australia Glenn McGrath.

One member of West Indian pace duo Courtney Walsh is to accompany Wasim Akram and Glenn McGrath in the team.

The spin department goes to solely with Aussie spin wizard Shane Warne. 37 year Shahid Afridi has not, however, selected anyone to lead his dream team covering most of the cricketing greats of twentieth century.

Shahid Afridi represented Pakistan for 398 one day international matches in his career in which he scored 8064 runs in an average of 23.57 with six centuries and thirty nine fifties. The dashing all – rounder also picked up 395 wickets with 9 five wicket hauls.
