This years ICC Champions Trophy took place in England and Wales. So, at the start of the tournament many thought that sides from the subcontinent will find it tough to make it to the knockout stages. But then cricket lived up to his reputation of being a game of uncertainty. Tournament favorites like Australia and South Africa failed to qualify in the final four and instead three teams of the sub-continent have made it through.

England, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan have qualified for this years Champions Trophy semifinals. England will take on Pakistan in the 1st semifinal, tomorrow at Cardiff. And Bangladesh will face India in the 2nd semifinal, on June 15 at Edgbaston.

Mr. Bachchan on a tweet pointed out that the three teams from the subcontinent were one country before partition separated them. India, Pakistan and Bangladesh were once ruled by the British for almost two centuries prior to independence.

“Cricket Championship ’17, 4 semi finalists, 3 from once one country, ruled once by the 4th SF,.. who shall rule now?” said Mr. Bachchan. He added a caricature of himself wearing the four different colors of the four semifinalist nations.

On June 18, the Champions Trophy 20017 final will take place. And when it’s all said and done, we will find out that whether the once ruthless colonial rulers will reign supreme or will it be a team from the sub-continent who will outdo their once colonial oppressors.
