ashwin injures his knee ahead of ct17 final

Just 24 hours before their blockbuster clash against arch-rivals Pakistan in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, India have suffered a big blow with the sudden injury news of premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

It has been learnt that Ashwin on Saturday hurt his right knee during the fielding session ahead of the final.

Ashwin along with other senior players like skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan were going through their customary fielding drills when the burly tweaker got hurt.

Fielding coach R Sridhar was seen giving catches and Ashwin, while taking one, fell with his whole weight on his right knee.

However, whether or not Ashwin’s injury is serious is yet to be known. But there’s high chance of it not being much serious, as he was back to bowling in the nets just after 30 minutes.

Still, it is highly unlikely that India will take any chance with him in the final match unless he is hundred percent fit and ready to run.
