Bangladesh are currently in England for the eighth edition of the Champions Trophy, hosted by England and Wales. And Tamim took the opportunity with both hands, securing a lower stand ticket, located just behind the dugout. The Tigers opening batsman had to pay 2,700 pounds (around Tk 2.50 lakhs) for the prized ticket.
“I’ve been longing to see Ronaldo in flesh for a long time now. Finally, I have got this opportunity,” Tamim had said.
“I’ve been longing to see Ronaldo in flesh for a long time now. Finally, I have got this opportunity. I don’t want to lose out on this great chance to see him in action.
“I asked for a one-day break from the coach. He didn’t say no,” he had added.
Bangladesh have already played out their first match of the group round of ICC Champions Trophy against the hosts England, and succumbed to a 8-wicket defeat.
But Tamim continued his great form in that match, picking up his 9th ODI century and went on to making 128 runs to boost his side to a huge total of 305 runs batting first.
Bangladesh will face Australia in their next match at The Oval in London on Monday (June 5).
