Bangladesh are set to take on India on June 15 in the second semi-final of ICC Champions Trophy 2017. They were group runners-up in Group A with three points. After a defeat to England, the Tigers earned a lucky point in the washout game against Australia. However, in their third match, they defeated New Zealand by five wickets.

Australia were beaten by England the next day which confirmed Bangladesh’s qualification.

Bangladesh reached Birmingham on Sunday afternoon. This is the second time in this tournament they are in Birmingham. Last time they were here, they lost to Pakistan by two wickets in warm-up game despite posting 341 on board.

Heading towards Edgbaston from team hotel, Hathurusingha was asked by a journalist, “Coach, India again!”

“We are heading towards the right direction. You never know, we can be third time lucky as you remember the 2015 quarter-final and also the group game against India in the World T20 last year. You can’t say anything. We can be lucky coming in the third time,” he replied.

In 2015 World Cup, Bangladesh were beaten by India by 109 runs in the second quarter-final at MCG. Last year they took on each other again in World T20. It was a heartbreak for Bangladesh as they were handed a two-run loss by the hosts in Bengaluru.

It’s Bangladesh vs India again in an ICC event. Can the Tigers be third time lucky and reach final?
