Shashi Tharoor also added a photo with Mashrafe’s quote: “The labourers are the stars, they build the country. What have we built using cricket? Does paddy grow on the cricket field? Those who make courtyards using bricks, make things at factories, grow crops in the fields – they are the stars.”
The tweet was loved by over 2.5 thousands fans of Shashi Tharoor and it was retweeted for nearly a thousand time in just 12 hours.
Following a 50-day long European team, Bangladesh returned home on Saturday (June 17). They contested in a tri-nation series in Ireland, in which they finished second but got a brilliant victory over New Zealand.
Then in the group phase of the Champions Trophy, they beat the same side once again to win the semifinal berth of an ICC event for the very first time in their cricket history.
And all these successes had a fair share of contribution from the Tigers skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza.
