Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman have demanded suitable remuneration for the task of picking up the national coach. The trio known as ‘Big Three’ of India are part of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), disagreed to perform the crucial job honorary.
The message has been sent to BCCI CEO Rahul Johri but some BCCI members feels that the CAC members should not be paid for a task.
A source of BCCI told to Indian Express that since other members of BCCI’s committees are not paid, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman also should not be remunerated for this deed.
“This happens to be a BCCI sub – committee, plus one of them happens to be a BCCI member. Since members of various others BCCI committees don’t get paid, CAC can’t be an exception. There was this demand earlier too, but BCCI turned it down” – he said.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will start the process of appointing a new coach for the Indian national team right after the ICC Champions Trophy, 2017 final as the present coach Anil Kumble is going to end his one year contract with the board and the board is not willing to extend it further.
