It has been learnt that the BCB is in discussions with some “big names” from around the world for the posts of batting and bowling consultant.
However, a BCB official informed that the appointment will depend on the availability of the individuals in accordance to the HP programme.
Jayawardene already has some lucrative coaching experiences under his belt. Following his retirement from international cricket in 2015, he worked as England’s batting consultant in the same year and later featured in T20 leagues around the globe.
He got his first head coach job for Mumbai Indians in this season’s Indian Premier League (IPL), and immediately guided the side to the title.
The legendary batsman will also be seen as the coach of Khulna Titals in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2017 and 2018 seasons.
