Mahmudullah Riyad brought up his third ODI hundred in his career against New Zealand in the Group A game of Champions Trophy at Swalec Stadium, Cardiff. All his hundreds have come in ICC’s world events.
Mahmudullah had two centuries in world events before his latest knock against the Blackcaps. Both of those hundreds came in the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. He scored 103 off 138 against England in the famous Adelaide triumph. In the next game, he hammered career-best 128* off 123 balls against New Zealand in Hamilton.
The right-hander’s third hundred in ODI events came against New Zealand again. Probably, this was the best innings he had played. He came into the crease when Bangladesh were 33/4 in their run-chase to 266.
He made 224-run partnership with Shakib Al Hasan for the fifth wicket which guided Bangladesh to the victory. Mahmudullah scored unbeaten 102 runs in 107 deliveries. He hit 8 fours and 2 sixes in his innings.
Mahmudullah has 513 runs in 13 matches (12 innings) in ODI world events at an average of 64.12 with three hundreds.
