Bangladesh finished up being semi-finalists of Champions Trophy. They won only one game against New Zealand in the group stage which helped them achieve the glory of playing semi-finals for the first time in their history. Mashrafe is happy of the achievement hopes the team will be more matured in next two years.
“The team will be more responsible in the future; specially if we are thinking of the 2019 World Cup then the team is likely to be more matured in two years’ time.
“It’s been a good achievement to get to the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy,” he said after arriving Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
The Bangladeshi bowlers had been at their best in this tournament. Mashrafe hopes they will use the experience in later games. He also urges his team to improve the mental and physical side of their game.
“Bowlers will have to learn how to bowl in flat wickets. Even though we couldn’t do it this time maybe we can use the experience in later matches.
“This is the time to improve the mental and physical side of our game and also to attain skills and abilities,” the skipper said.
“Hopefully we will do well in the World Cup,” he concluded.
