Bangladesh managed to get one point against Australia despite of a disappointing batting display as the match was abandoned due to rain in the later half of the match, on Monday. [বাংলায় পড়ুন: মাশরাফির এক কৌশলেই জিততে পারেনি অস্ট্রেলিয়া]
If four more overs were bowled in the match, the result would have gone to Australia’s favour. But Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza did not let that happen as he played a trick to waste as much time as he could.
“Maybe it’s not an ideal place to reveal this. But to be honest, we knew that that would had no chance of winning the match. We tried to take as much time as we could before 20 overs. That’s I did not use Miraz after his first over,” Mashrafe said.
The 33-year old Bangladesh skipper took 8 minutes to bowl his last over. Then Rubel took 6 minuets and Mustafiz took 7 minutes. As the pacers take more time to bowl than the spinners, Mashrafe kept using fast bowlers.
“We knew that there were possibilities of rain after 6 PM or 7 PM. But frankly we did not know whether the match was going to continue or not after the 16th over. During the drinks break we did not think the play would stopped on that time. So we tried to take as much time as we could,” he added.
