Despite facing a shameful top-order batting collapse which triggered Bangladesh down to 33 for four against New Zealand on Friday, the Tigers recorded a brilliant comeback in the match courtesy a record 224-run partnership between Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyad which saw them win the match by 5 wickets.

And who could be the mystery behind such tremendous return to track than the outstanding team spirit within the team. All the cricketers in the team are so close to each other and share such an intense bond that the chemistry between them is something really to cherish for.

And for such unity in the team, Bangladesh’s former skipper Habibul Bashar Sumon has credited one man specifically, and he is the current captain of the side Mashrafe Bin Mortaza. According to Bashar, Mashrafe is the main reason for why the Tigers now have so close relationship between them and enjoy a super friendly environment in the dressing room.

“You can see them in the field only. So you may not know this that the Bangladeshi players are so close to one another in their real lives as well. Most of the times they spend with each other, and during th foreign tours, you will see all of them travelling together and having sight-seeings.

“I think Mashrafe is the main man behind such intense bonding. He has stitched all the cricketers of the team together into a single unit. You will see him having great relationships with everyone. If the cricketers are not out in the evening, you will find them in Mashrafe’s room, gossiping and having fun. Mashrafe is the kind of person to whom everyone is welcome. He never shuts his door, it’s open for everyone,” Bashar revealed.
