Morgan aware of Bangladesh threat

England captain Eoin Morgan is aware of Bangladesh threat as his side take on the Tigers in the opening game of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 at The Oval. He is seeing Bangladesh as a tough opponent.

Last time when Bangladesh played England, England won the three-match series by 2-1 in October last year. Morgan also talked about Bangladesh’s golden form since World Cup 2015.

“I think recent form, you have to take into account. The last time we played them, obviously was a home series for Bangladesh, and we know how strong they are at home. I think that was the first time that they won five series at home.

“We know they are a strong team, and this is their first Champions Trophy, so that comes with an element of pressure as well. [Thursday] is a big day for everybody. We are really looking forward to it,” said the England captain at a press conference on Wednesday.

He thinks that any team whoever come out victorious in the tournament, will be well-deserved for them.

“I think it’s really important. We’re not very fortunate enough to play in a tri-series where you’re exposed to must-win games. I suppose the Champions Trophy, the beauty of it is that whoever does win the trophy will thoroughly deserve it. Because like I’ve mentioned, you can be knocked out. And I suppose mistakes can be taken advantage of; and limiting those mistakes. I suppose focusing on your strengths as a side is a very important part of winning it,” he said.
