Mosaddek was ‘out of syllabus’ for New Zealand

Bangladesh keep their hope alive in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy after thrashing Kane Williamson led New Zealand by five wickets, on Friday. A brilliant fifth wicket stand between Mahmdulluah Riyad and Shakib Al Hasan piloted the side to the victory.

But the foundation was made when Mosaddek Hossain picked up three quick and important wickets when the Kiwis were going towards a big total. It was unexpected for them to go through such situation as they were looking confident to post over 300 on the board.

Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, all of a sudden brought his part time spinner Mosaddek Hossain in the attack after 40th over of the innings. Blackcaps had no idea about Mosaddek which helped the part-timer to send three batsmen back to the pavilion in his 3-over spell.

Kane Williamson, the captain of New Zealand side also admitted the fact after the match that they were mentally not prepared to face Mosaddek Hosaain in the death overs. “We thought we would be able to score 300. But Mosaddek Hossain sent back three of our batsmen Neil Broom, Correy Anderson and Neesham. He was out of our plan,” he said.
