“Rubel got hit by a door in dressing room and struck on his nasal bone and zygomatic bone. That part swollen and started to pain a lot. The incident took place on 15 June (after semi-final match against India at Edgbaston),” Debashish told Channel 24.

“As the pain has increased after coming back to the country, we had a scan and it showed a fracture in that place.”

If Rubel takes surgery, he will be out of the cricket field for six weeks. Bangladesh will take on Australia for two Tests in August-September. So, he might be fit before the series.

“Any type of bone injury takes four to five weeks time to recover. If he does take surgery, it will take him six weeks to recover,” Debashish informed.

Rubel took only two wickets in four matches in the Champions Trophy. Like other bowlers, he was flop too.
