Sabbir Rahman, who was demoted to No.6 from his usual position of No.3 to make way for Imrul Kayes in Bangladesh’s first match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 against England, said he is ready to bat wherever his team wants him to.
“I think wherever my team want me to bat I am pretty much comfortable with it. And I am ready for it. Whichever position I bat, I try to play for my team, and for me as well,” Sabbir told the media on Saturday.
He also added, “I don’t face problems in adjusting as I enjoy the role given to me by the team management. I still don’t know in which position I am going to bat in the next game but I am up for it wherever I get the chance.”
The 25-year-old cricketer is also very effective as an occasional bowler with his leg-spin and he once again proved a point in the England match when he gave his team a much needed breakthrough by picking up the wicket of Alex Hales.
Sabbir informed that he is looking forward to play the role of an all-rounder in the upcoming days whenever the team requires.
“I always enjoy bowling and I want to bowl every time although I don’t get the opportunity. But whenever I get the opportunity, I try to give my best,” he said.
