Sehwag thinks India have already reached the final

Former Indian opening batsman Virender Sehwag, who is known for his outrages and ignorant comments in the social media is again making headlines with his latest congratulatory tweet for the Indian side, where he snidely wrote off Bangladesh’s chances of playing in the Champions Trophy finals. Bangladesh made they way into the final four, as the runners-up side from Group A. With the victory against South Africa,India has also qualified for the semis. So, most likely it’s going to be Bangladesh vs India in the 2nd semifinal on June 15, at Edgbaston.

After the victory against South Africa, many former players congratulated the Indian side. Virender Sehwag also joined in and tweeted a congratulatory post for the Indian side. But in his tweet the former Indian opener wished them well for not only the semifinal but also for the final. He indirectly pointed out that he feels India has already reached the finals before even playing the semifinal.

Sehwag has always been a harsh critic of Bangladesh cricket. In his playing days he once said that the Bangladesh side is ‘Ordinary’ and Bangladesh doesn’t have the bowling line up to take 20 wickets against India in a test match.

Bangladesh were in the group of death. They were the only non-Asian side and the lowest ranked side in their group. Despite facing such adversaries Bangladesh has defied the odds and made it’s way into the semifinals. But even after such inspiring performance, Sehwag is still treating Bangladesh with negligence. Maybe Sehwag should remember India’s recent lose to Sri Lanka, who are currently ranked lower than Bangladesh, and refrain from giving such immature statements.
