What would you call the Indian cricket fans? Atrologer or ober confident. Whatever they maybe, it’s a fact that they have bought out all the tickets of the semifinal even before the semifinal line-ups were finalized. [নিউজটি বাংলায় পড়ুনঃ সেমিফাইনালের সব টিকেট ভারতীয়দের দখলে!]
Now the other supporters are also demanding ticket to witness the semifinals, but the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have no answer to it.
As India beat South Africa on Sunday in their last group match from Group B, it is all but sure that they are through to the semifinal as the group champions. Now they will get to face Bangladesh in the semifinal.
This will be the second semifinal that will take place in Edgbaston, Birmingham on June 15. But the Indian fans didn’t wait for the match to end, which confirmed India’s berth in the semifinal. Rather they have bought up tickets of both the semifinal venues – Cardiff and Birmingham.
One ICC spokeperson informed that 38% tickes of Birmingham semifinal and 37% tickets of Cardiff semifinal have already been sold out to Indians. But there’s still chance for the Indians to return the tickets to ICC through their website, if they wish.
But it doesn’t seem like the Indians will do it through the official procedures. Earlier they had sold the tickets of India-Pakistan match in black market at a price five times more than actual. It can be assumed that they will now do the same with the semifinal tickets as well.
