Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood has registered the second best bowling figure in the history of ICC Champions Trophy, as he took a six-wicket haul at the expense 52 runs in the second match of the ongoing edition against New Zealand at Birmingham.

This is overall the 11th instance when a bowler has taken a five-wicket haul in ICC Champions Trophy. Hazlewood is the second Aussie bowler to take a fifer in CT after Glenn McGrath (5/37) vs NZ in Colombo(SSC) in 2002.

The best bowling figure in Champions Trophy belings to Sri Lanka’s Farveez Maharoof. He took 6 wickets for just 11 runs against West Indies during the 2006 edition of the competition in India.

Thanks to Hazlewood’s brilliant bowling display at the death, New Zealand were dismissed for just 291 runs off 45 overs despite being well placed at 254/3 at the start of the 40th over.
