Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood has registered the second best bowling figure in the history of ICC Champions Trophy, as he took a six-wicket haul at the expense 52 runs in the second match of the ongoing edition against New Zealand at Birmingham.
This is overall the 11th instance when a bowler has taken a five-wicket haul in ICC Champions Trophy. Hazlewood is the second Aussie bowler to take a fifer in CT after Glenn McGrath (5/37) vs NZ in Colombo(SSC) in 2002.
Thanks to Hazlewood’s brilliant bowling display at the death, New Zealand were dismissed for just 291 runs off 45 overs despite being well placed at 254/3 at the start of the 40th over.

In the meantime, another Champions Trophy record has taken place during the New Zealand batting innings. Aussie all-rounder Glenn Maxwell took as many as 4 catches, which is the the joint most in an innings in CT. Nathan McCullum also took four vs ENG in Cardiff in 2013.
