So far the Tigers have won 4 times against the English Lions, two out of which came in ICC tournaments — in the 2011 World Cup at Chittagong and in the 2015 World Cup at Adelaide.

Now Bangladesh are just one victory away from acquiring a new record. If they can beat Eoin Morgan’s England today, they will become the 6th team to beat England in 3 consecutive matches across ICC tournaments. Only five teams — South Africa (5), New Zealand (5), India (4), Australia (3) and Sri Lanka (3) have done this before.

However, beating England this time will be anything but easy for Bangladesh, for England have been on a rampage in the 50-over format ever since their humiliating exit from the 2015 World Cup.

Since the last World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, England’s win-loss ratio in ODIs is 1.928 which is best among the top cricketing nations. On the other hand, , Bangladesh’s win-loss ratio since 2015 World Cup is 1.6, which makes them stands at 3rd, with the 2nd spot belonging to South Africa (1.857).

While Bangladesh are yet to play any international match at The Oval, England have as many as 25 victories at this ground, their most at any ground, followed by 23 at Lord’s.
