Tigers to wear black badge today

Bangladesh are all set to take on India in a high voltage Champions Trophy semi-final today at 3:30 PM (Bangladesh local time) to seal their place in the final for the first time at an ICC event.

Ahead of the match Bangladesh Cricket Team’s media manager Rabeed Imam has confirmed that the team will be wearing black badge during the match as so many people in Bangladesh died after a mountain collapse took place.

As many as 133 people died in three districts in the last two days: Chittagong, Rangamati and Bandarban, according to a tally by the disaster management and relief ministry.

The death toll included four soldiers who were trapped by a landslide affer they joined a rescue operation in Rangamati. One soldier is still missing.

Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza also showed sympathy to the family of the people who died in the incident as well as the soldiers who sacrificed their lives to save other people.

“Those who died while saving others, may their souls rest in peace,” Mashrafe said.
