England will face Australia on June 10 at Edgbaston in Group A’s final game. This match will have massive importance on Bangladesh or New Zealand’s fortunes. The winner of Bangladesh-New Zealand match will hope Aussies to lose.
In 2004 Semi-final at Edgbaston, England knocked Australia out by six wickets. Again in 2013 at the same venue, Alastair Cook’s England got better of mighty Aussies. It’s England vs Australia again at Edgbaston. Australia are desperate to win this clash while England would like to continue their golden form.
“Yes, it would be nice. We will not think too much about that. We want to win, keep our momentum going no matter who we are playing, but it is always nice to know that would be the outcome if we did win,” said Buttler.
“We now know we have qualified for the semi-finals but we want to be going there on the back of a win and we will be desperate to do that on Saturday. We have got some good memories of playing there. It is a ground we like playing at, which is one of the advantages of being at one, isn’t it?”
England have qualified for the semis as the first team after beating Bangladesh and New Zealand convincingly. Australia, on the other hand, got two points from two matches by washouts.
