Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Zakir Hossain Tipu passed the order after hearing around 11:30am today, reports our court correspondent from the spot.
Sunny’s lawyer Muraduzzaman said, a petition was placed before the court to defer today’s indictment hearing. But, the court scrapped the petition.
The cricketer’s bail has been cancelled and an arrest warrant has been issued for him.
On January 20, a woman claiming to be Sunny’s wife filed the case against him. In the case statement she said Sunny demanded Taka 20 lakh from her as dowry after their marriage.
“I am having chikunguniya[viral disease] that had attacked the city severely,” the cricketer said on Sunday when his attention was drawn to this.
“I had sent the medical reports to the court but probably my lawyer did not submit it and due to that it happened,” he said.
“I am confident the court will understand my position once the medical report is submitted,” he added.
Nasrin first lodged a general diary with Mohammadpur police station on December 25, 2016.
Arafat was arrested from his Aminbazar residence in Savar on January 22 in the second case filed with Mohammadpur police station by her wife under Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act over posting their personal pictures on social media without her consent.
