Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is still in search of a spin bowling coach ahead of the two-match series against Australia. The board is trying to get a spin coach who is nearer to Bangladesh, probably someone from sub-continent zone. [নিউজটি বাংলায় পড়ুনঃ এখনো স্পিন কোচের সন্ধানে বিসিবি!]
BCB is still communicating with Stuart MacGill, the former Australian leg-spinner.
“MacGill is still our first favourite. We keep communicating with him. He can’t announce the date due to his personal reasons. But we are trying to get a spin coach who is nearer to our country before the Australia series,” said BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury.
India’s Sunil Joshi, Sridharan Sriram and South Africa’s Paul Adams were also in BCB’s wishlist. Talks didn’t go far with Sriram because he was with Australian team for the same duty. If someone comes from this list, Joshi is most likely to come.
BCB might appoint an interim spin bowling coach. Another Sri Lankan man could be added to Bangladesh’s coaching stuff. The BCB CEO went to Sri Lanka to attend an ACC meeting. Champaka Ramanayake will come to Bangladesh on August 17 to take the responsibility of High Performence Unit as pace bowling coach. The new spin coach might join Ramanayake in Bangladesh flight from Colombo.
