The fifth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), in accordance with a new decision of the BPL Governing Council, will be taken place in Sylhet instead of capital Dhaka.
The nod to shift the venue is to compromise with the Commonwealth Parliamentary Union Seminar that is also scheduled to take place in Dhaka, starting from the first week of November this year.
The Commonwealth Parliamentary Union Seminar will be undergone in Dhaka from 1st to 8th of November, restricting any other major event to take place at the same time in the capital city.
BPL Governing Council, in the first phase of reconsidering the date of BPL-5, thought about postponing the largest domestic T20 tournament of the country, for a week but later it was aborted due to the occurrence of Global T20 League in South Africa in the closing period of time.
An urgent meeting was called on Tuesday to discuss about the time and venue of the forthcoming season of the Bangladesh Premier League.
BPL Governing Council member and BCB Director Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan chaired the meeting.
