Chandimal rules out of the series The injury that Dinesh Chandimal sustained during the third one day international match against India, has forced him to rule out from the rest of the series. A sharp bouncer from Hardik Pandya hit Chandimal’s thumb causing a fracture.

India already clinched the series with a six wicket win in the third ODI at Pallekele; there are two match remaining in the series yet.

A statement of Sri Lanka Cricket confirmed, “SLC confirms that test captain Dinesh Chandimal will be out of action for the rest of the series after sustaining a hairline fracture to his right thumb. We will have a better idea of timeline of his recovery after consulting a specialist in Colombo tomorrow.”

The fourth one day match of the series will be held on Thursday in Colombo and the fifth and final one will take place on Sunday in the capital city venue.

The two teams will face each other in a T20 international match.
