Mustafizur Rahman, the left-arm seamer, has not been in his best rhythm in recent times. His fast bowling mate Taskin Ahmed is optimistic that he will return firmly in the two Tests against Australia. [নিউজটি বাংলায় পড়ুনঃ আবারো স্বরূপে ফিরবে মুস্তাফিজ]
Mustafizur has played four Tests for Bangladesh since his debut in 2015 against South Africa and took 4/37 in his first innings. He has scalped 12 wickets in six innings including the only one four-fer. He didn’t play the Tests in New Zealand and India tours as he was recovering from shoulder surgery which he had undergone a year ago.
The 21-year-old sensation returned to Test cricket against Sri Lanka and played a crucial role in Bangladesh’s victory over Sri Lanka in their 100th Test in Colombo in March.
Mustafizur struggled in limited-overs cricket this year. He could take only one wicket in four matches in Champions Trophy this year. Taskin hopes that Bangladesh’s one of player to watch will return with better performance against Australia.
“We always expect much from Mustafiz. He fulfilled the expectations as well. It is true that he was not up to the mark in the last few matches. The greatest bowlers of the world also could not bowl well in two-three matches. We don’t have much concern on him, he will return firmly.”
