The tour of Australia for two Test matches against Bangladesh is yet to be fixed amidst the continued pay dispute in Australian cricket, but Tigers’ head coach Chandika Hathurusingha cherishes the highest hopes for the team in the forthcoming series. Hathurusingha hopes not only to defeat Australia but also to claim a clean sweep in the series.
“In Test cricket, we are now advanced a bit. At least we have good plans to implement in the subcontinent condition. We want to win both Test matches against Australia. I believe, at home, we are a very good fighting team in Test,” Hathurusingha remarked.
Last time Australia visited Bangladesh for a full series consisted of two Test matches and three one day international matches was back in 2006.
Australia swept away Bangladesh in all matches of Test and ODI series.
Although the first Test match was competitive where Aussies could manage a 3 wicket win, the Tigers were thrashed in the second Test. Australia outclassed Bangladesh by an innings and 80 runs.
