Experienced Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal who has been in great form for last couple of years, continues his good form in the ongoing two-match Test series against Australia. He already has smashed two consecutive half-centuries. [বাংলায় পড়ুনঃ দিন শেষে তামিমের হতাশা]
However, the opener missed a well deserved century by only 22 runs in Bangladesh’s second innings of the match. While talking about his innings he said it would have been great if he could reach to three figure, but he had no regrets missing out on his century.
Tamim who was 22 runs shy from reaching his ninth Test hundred insisted it was bad luck that he could not reach the three digit mark. “I don’t think anyone can have a question on my dismissal as it was unplayable and out of my control,” he said
He also said Shakib – caught at cover attempting an inside-out shot – had the right intentions, while Mushfiqur was unlucky.
“If Mushfiqur and Sabbir added 25-30 runs, we would have taken a 300-run lead. Mushfiqur didn’t have much to do with his dismissal. It is hard to say why Sabbir didn’t take the review,” Tamim said.
He further added, “He may have thought it hit his gloves. On the first day, he felt he didn’t hit it but he did. It is hard to say what he was thinking. Shakib was looking for runs but if he had waited just a bit more, it would have been better. He did well in the first innings.”
