“It would be a tough job for me here as left handed spinner” says Agar

"It would be a tough job for me here as left handed spinner" says AgarVisiting Australia is looking for a series win in the subcontinent when they will take on Bangladesh in the two match series starting from Saturday. One of the spearheads in Australia’s bowling line up Ashton Agar declared he and his probable spin partner Nathan Lyon want to catch Bangladeshi batsmen up with their aggressive batting style.

All the three top order batsmen of Bangladesh batting line up Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar and Imrul Kayes are aggressive left handed batsmen and Agar said this characteristic could come in favor of Australia.

“Left handed Bangladeshi batsmen will bat against left handed spinners; it would be tough job for me as a left handed spinner. But they are generally aggressive in nature. Aggressiveness often leads to falling of wickets easily. So I think it might assist us,” Agar said.

While mentioning the strategy in the series to come, Ashton Agar also told Australia is concentrating more on their own abilities.

“There are several team meetings held so far. We are giving more attentions to ourselves; we are thinking of our own skills, how we could defeat Bangladesh. We have scrutinized the home team performers, what we want to do in the field. We want to implement rightly what is in our hand,” Agar explained.

Australia have not won a series in the subcontinent since 2011.
