The decision hit the home team back abruptly causing damage through losing vital early wickets at the start of the innings.

Veteran campaigners Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan tried to resurrect the innings after the initial loss.

Together they built up an 86 run fourth wicket partnership and became unbeaten at lunch of day one. Bangladesh have scored 96 runs for the loss of 3 wickets.

Shakib Al Hasan stood two runs away from his half century; his 48 came off 62 deliveries while Tamim Iqbal is unbeaten at scoring 33 runs.

Tamim was a little slower in approach scored 33 runs in 91 deliveries.

Bangladesh choose three openers in the squad, Tamim Iqbal opened the innings with Soumya Sarkar.

Soumya continued his bad run with the bat, scored 8 off 8 before becoming the first victim of Pat Cummins.

Cummins destroyed the Bangladesh top order line up, claiming all three wickets that the home team lost in the first session.

The Sydney born speed star brought the pace of the rain soaked Mirpur wickets, picked up Imrul Kayes and hard hitter Sabbir Rahman consecutively later on.

Imrul was futile playing 6 deliveries without scoring a single run; lost his wicket chasing a rather wide delivery outside the off stump.

Sabbir Rahman procured a golden duck, became the third victim of Pat Cummins in the innings. Both Imrul and Sabbir were caught by the wicket keeper Matthew Wade.
