Middle-order collapse has let Bangladesh bowl out for 221 runs in the second innings of Dhaka Test. Australia need 265 runs for victory.

Bangladesh lost the crucial wicket of Tamim Iqbal just after the lunch interval. He was caught behind of Pat Cummins for 78 runs off 155 balls. The partnership with captain Mushfiqur Rahim ended in 68 runs.

Shakib Al Hasan took the charge against off-spinner Nathan Lyon. A ball later after hitting Lyon for a four coming down the track, he played the same shot and it cost his wicket. He scored only 5 runs.

Mushfiqur put on 43-run stand with Sabbir Rahman for the sixth wicket. Mushfiqur was run out for 41 runs off 114 balls. His innings included just one four and a six. Sabbir, at no.7, contributed 36-ball 22 with 2 fours and a six.

Lyon sent back Sabbir after Mushfiqur’s run out. Nasir Hossain was caught behind of a four-ball duck off Ashton Agar. Australia were getting back into the game as Bangladesh were aiming for a big lead.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz added some valuable runs in the second session. He made 26 runs with the bat.

Australia bowled Bangladesh out for 221 runs in 79.3 overs. They have been set a target for 265 runs to win. 30 overs more will be bowled today. Lyon took 6 wickets for 82 runs.
