Bangladesh all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad who has been ignored for the opening Test against Australia at home, is excited to join Jamaica Tallawahs in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League as he is expected to replace compatriot Shakib Al Hasan. “I am very excited to join the CPL,” Mahmudullah told Cricbuzz on Sunday (August 20), after completing his practice session at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
The all-rounder takes it as an opportunity for him and he is keen to make a mark in the tournament. “It’s a big opportunity for me and I am looking forward to make that count,” he added.
The 31-year-old cricketer has also admitted that he’s aware of the competition that he is likely to face in the Tallawahs dressing room and said he is looking forward to the challenge.
“It is true that you won’t be selected just by your name. I know there will be some stiff competition. It will be challenging and I am looking forward to it,” he noted.
However, Mahmudullah believes the upcoming task will help to grow as a cricketer as some of the world’s leading players like are featuring in it.
He further added, “I think this kind of tournament will help me to grow as a cricketer as some of the world’s leading players are featuring in it.”
