However, the Bangladeshi batting stalwart doesn’t feel bothered about the criticizers as he considers the game of cricket as a big challenge.

“I think cricket itself is a big challenge and I think the best way to cope is to face these challenges and try to overcome them. Yes, at times it might look like things are not going in your favour but being a captain I always tried to do something to bring success for my team, but at times I didn’t get that,” Mushfiqur said in his latest interview with The Daily Star.

He added, “At the same time you also have to think whether you have enough resources available at that time, or let’s say I made a plan but the bowler is unable to execute that plan. For example, I set up seven fielders on the off side and the bowler bowls on the leg side but ultimately it all comes against the captain.”

Whenever Bangladesh lose a match under his captaincy, a group of people start raising question against Mushy’s captaincy even after being the most successful Test captain of Bangladesh’s cricket history. But the big hearted man takes everything positively as he claims that the he has full respect for his critics.

“And being the captain I have to take responsibility and I take it. But yes, I have full respect for my critics as it helps me to correct my mistakes at times and it drives me to return even stronger than ever,” he concluded.

To be noted, Mushfiqur Rahim is the first Bangladesh captain to beat a strong side in Test cricket as Tigers thrashed England last year in Dhaka.
