Nafees was dropped from Bangladesh side in 2013 and didn’t play for the Tigers since then. But he has continued on performing well in the domestic tournaments whether in first-class tournaments NCL or BCL or 50-over league DPL or even in the blockbusting BPL. But still the left-hander had to stay out of the team.
The 32-year old doesn’t regret on getting dropped and wants to perform well in domestic cricket. “I don’t have regrets. I am happy. I will try to continue performing well and work hard to to well in every tournament till I play cricket,” he told Jagonews24 newspaper.
“Since I was dropped in 2013, I thought my performance in domestic cricket in four years was enough to earn opportunity in national team. By the limitless grace of Almighty Allah, I have played well in all formats and played fairy better than others. But still the selectors didn’t consider me.”
However, Nafees said that the selection process is not up to his hands. He understands that the selectors are the ones to give the best answer of his exclusion.
“To be honest, the selection matter is not up to me. I don’t want to say anything about selection because the selectors can give the best answer on this subject (Nafees not getting chance in the team),” he added.
