Bangladesh have dominated the Australians throughout the match on what is labelled as a rank turner, and eventually won the match by 20 runs.

Australia could have shown some excuses behind the loss. First of all, it was tough for them to adjust to the difficult subcontinent conditions. To add to that, they also missed out on playing their only practice match due to venue complications.

But at the post match presentation ceremony, Australia skipper Steven Smith conceded the defeat without showing any excuse.

He said, “No excuses for us. They (Bangladesh) played better than us, and that’s it. We couldn’t play the practice match, but still we had enough time to prepare ourselves in the nets. And to be fair, we also got brilliant practice pitches. So we have no complaints from our side for the defeat.”

Talking further about the pitch, the Australian captain said, “It spun from day one. Just that there was a bit of variable bounce today. I thought he (Warner) played really well to get a hundred. One of the wickets where you never felt in as such. We needed to get first innings lead. We are looking forward to the next game in Chittagong.”
