Among all the deliveries done by Sanjit Saha, the young potential right arm off-break bowler, only one of them is causing him all the damages and made him an assault of illegal bowling action as informed by BCB management information system manager Nasir Ahmed.
After the last Dhaka Premier League ended, four bowlers were accused of illegal bowling action among which four of them are spinners.
Sanjit Saha is also one of them. Playing with all his effort and proving his capability has made him a successful rookie and is seen by many people as a future Bangladeshi star.
Nasir Ahmed says, “I spoke to the coaches of the national team. They said they couldn’t find any doubt in his bowling action. He was also accused once when he was playing for the U-19s. He passed the case after completing the ICC regulations.”
There is no further fault in Sanjit’s bowling. Just one action is causing all the problems. Nasir also says, “The complain is not about all his bowling action. He does a straight action where the angle might have crossed 15 degrees.”
In general, early in their careers, most spinners face action problems. Bangladesh Cricket Board will soon run an investigation on the accused bowlers.
He added, “On average 90% spinners are accused due to their bowling action. On the last first division league, 12 bowlers were charged for their action among which just two of them were pacers. We will very soon bring them into act and make a record of their bowling actions. Finally, we will make an analysis of their video and see if whether the accusations are right or wrong.”
