Playing 50 Test matches is more than special: Tamim

Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal who has been a regular member of the Tigers squad since his international, is only a match away from playing his 50th match in the longer version of cricket.

In a recent interview with bdnews24 Tamim talked about this milestone match as he said : “Playing 50 Test matches for my country is something more than special. Hopefully, it’ll be a memorable one for me.”

Meanwhile, another senior member of Bangladesh team, Shakib Al Hasan also will play his 50th along with the opener when Bangladesh will take on Australia in the first match of the upcoming two-match Test series against on 27th August.

Talking about Shakib, the opener said the upcoming Test would be special for the number two ranked all-rounder too. “It will be special for Shakib too. I am sure that he will want to do something special which will bring glory for Bangladesh,” said Tamim.

Tamim claimed that he gives his hundred percent whenever he plays for his team. “I always give my hundred percent for my team and it’ll be repeated in the 50th Test too. I am waiting to have a good memory,” Tamim added.

To be noted, Tamim in his long career, has so far scored 3,677 runs in 49 Test matches with an average of 39.53.
