Rubel wants to be a perfect ‘lower-order’ batsman

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has brought a new batting coach for the lower-order batsmen of the Bangladesh National Team. During today’s practice session pacer Rubel Hossain was seen busy in batting practice. [নিউজটি বাংলায় পড়ুনঃ ‘ব্যাটসম্যান’ রুবেল!]

The right-arm fast bowler was asked about this while talking to the media. The answer from him, clearly indicates that he wants to contribute with that bat too. “We have got a new coach for our batting. I want to know how to help the set batsmen during the match and I think he’ll help me for that.”

However, Rubel doesn’t have a good batting record in any three formats of the game. He averages 9.56 in Test cricket as he scored 22O runs from 41 innings.

On the other hand, his averages are even poorer in the shorter versions of cricket as he averages 6.00 in T20I while he has a batting average of 5.55 in ODI.

To be noted, a 29-man preliminary squad of Bangladesh are currently busy in the conditioning camp ahead of the home test series against Australia and a long tour to South Africa. All the players started to work hard from the very beginning of that camp but Rubel Hossain joined this camp lately due to his injury.
