Sabbir had seemed to be struggling in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 in England and Wales. He couldn’t fulfill team’s requirements in the tournament, whether at top of the order or in the middle order.
“I am working on my batting technique. I had a few problems with my back-lift. At the moment I am working with that with our batting consultant [Mark O’Neill]. I’m also working with my grip. While facing new ball what should I do and also increasing patience while crafting a big innings are also in my work-list,” Sabbir told the reporters at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
Sabbir batted at No. 3 in Bangladesh’s last ODI and T20I match. But in their latest Test match, he came out to bat at No. 4 being promoted from No. 7. He has three fifties in Tests at No. 7. He said that he doesn’t mind batting at any position.
“I am not thinking about batting order. I will bat wherever my team need. Coach [Chandika Hathurusingha] did not discuss with me about that yet. If needed, then I will play at No. 6.”
Sabbir scored 10 runs off nine balls in the three-day warm-up match in Chittagong. He batted at No. 4.
