Due to a number of qualified batsmen in the squad, a good competition has been created among the players.

The outcome of the first Test will depend a lot on the pitch conditions. However, famous Bangladeshi local coach Salahuddin thinks that this is a platform for spinners and Bangladesh should go for at least three.

On the other hand, coach Sarawar Imran thinks that playing pacers would be wiser.

Salahuddin thinks that slow wicket is going to help the Tigers and added, “We have some quality spinners in the team like- Shakib Al Hasan and Mehedi Hasan Miraz. Taijul Islam can also perform well. If the pitch favors the spinners then we should go for three spinners.”

He also said, “Australia has a number of left-handed batsman. In that case Nasir can be vital along with Miraz. I think two pacers is enough for the team.”

On the other hand, Sarawar Imran who won gold for Bangladesh on Asian Games said, ”I think Mirpur will provide some pace to the pitch and the first day is going to start with some pace on it. In that case I think we should play three pacers and thinking about the weather, we can go for it.”

He also added, “Since I think three pacers are needed on the squad so I would go for two spinners. Finally we can come out with five bowlers.”
