Australia skipper Steve Smith does not think it would be easier to win the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh, despite the Mushfiqur Rahim led side being ranked ninth in the world. [বাংলায় পড়ুনঃ স্মিথের চোখে ভয়ংকর বাংলাদেশ]
“They’ve improved significantly over the past couple of years, particularly playing at home, and knocked England off at home in a Test last year. They are certainly a dangerous side,” Smith wrote in his column for Fox Sports.
Meanwhile, the 28-year old Aussie captain also revealed that he did not pick up a bat for last 2 months. “I haven’t picked up a bat in about two months – and that’s rare for me,” revealed Smith.
The Bangladesh tour may be the immediate goal, but the long summer’s focal point will be five home Tests against arch-enemy England. “You can never get your Ashes preparations started too early: it’s a series that means that much to us,” Smith said.
To be noted, Players will start a seven-day training camp in Darwin on Thursday in preparation for their two-Test series against Bangladesh later in the month.
