Australia team don’t have a good record in the subcontinent as they have not won a series since 2011 and were clean-swept in two of the three-Test series since then.
Aussies had to face a 1-2 defeat in the latest four-Test series against India. Although Australia have won all four Tests they have played against Bangladesh, the teams haven’t met in the five-day format since 2006 and the Aussie coach knows that the challenge for his team would be to clinch an away series win.
“The challenge for us is to win a series away from home,” Lehmann told the media pointing towards their failure to have a good run in the subcontinent.
Bangladesh haven’t played any Test match in their home soil this year yet. The last Test in Mirpur between Bangladesh and England ended inside three days in October 2016.
However, the 47-year-old is also not too concerned by the fact as he said the Steve Smith-led side is prepared for the challenge.
“In India, we had three-day games. Sometimes the shorter the match, the more exciting Test match it is in a way. We are prepared for that, but traditionally it is a good wicket here,” he added.
