Star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan picked up a fifer each in both innings of the first Test as Bangladesh registered a remarkable 20-run win at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Chasing 265 to win, Australia lost five wickets in an eventful morning session, and whatever hopes they had were snuffed out when Shakib bowled Glenn Maxwell with the first delivery after the lunch break. Pat Cummins scored an unbeaten 33 down the order to inject some drama but it was not enough in the end as Australia were all out for 244.
After the historic Test victory against the Kangaroos, the Bangladeshi were naturally ecstatic and celebrated the victory in style in their dressing rooms.
Nasir Hossain who made a Test comeback after 2 years, shared the video of the Tigers celebrating inside the dressing room.
To commemorate the victory, the players were chanting “We shall overcome,” in Bangla. Using cricket bats and stumps and cushions as drums, they played a beat to go along with their chant.
